Overview

50° Riesling pays homage to the Rheingau, one of the most unique wine regions in the world, with this superb cuvée. Crafted by the historic Schloss Johannisberg estate, 50° Riesling draws its name from its perfect location along the 50th parallel in Germany's Rheingau region. The vineyards benefit from an ideal microclimate created by the protective Taunus Hills, the warming Gulf Stream, and the Rhine River's influence, while quartzite-rich soils provide perfect growing conditions.

Heritage

Germany's oldest cultivated grape variety and the world's most prized white wine, Riesling is native to the Rheingau — where it covers 80% of the growing area. Its small, thick-skinned berries ripen slowly through October, giving aromas time to develop fully while the vines draw rich minerals from Johannisberg's storied soils.

Winemaking

That patient ripening pays off in the glass. Rheingau Riesling is celebrated for an unmatched diversity of aromas, and when cellared properly, its longevity is legendary — bottles can age gracefully for over a century. For those who can resist opening it too soon, the reward is one of wine's most complex and enduring experiences.
